I was really pleased to hear earlier this week that Bill Gates was donating money to dementia research but while we are waiting for a cure, better methods of assessment might be our next best line of defense. Dismissing symptoms of dementia as normal signs of aging might be a problem but self-limiting behavior because you think you have dementia might be worse! Our research team is trialing better ways of detecting subtle changes in cognition and how these interact with financial literacy and judgement. This is part one of a three part study.....watch out for next year's instalment.
